Belly Dancing Away is a studio focused on belly dancing technique, rhythms, styles and general fitness
At Belly Dancing Away, our mission is to teach and spread our passion for belly dancing as a form of art and pay tribute to its elegance, gracefulness, richness and culture. We believe that this is possible while still maintaining our fitness goals!
We have designed our classes so that they are eclectic
Each lesson is centred around:
1. Warming up and strengthening the muscles you need to perfect your belly dancing form and posture. Some of this will combine barre movements, pilates and resistance training.
2. Pure belly dance technique focusing on form and the correctness of the technique, poise and musicality.
3. Cardio! Our lessons include a shimmy session or practising combinations o belly dance movements to get our heart rates up and make sure our lesson are fun, challenging and well-balanced.
4. Last but certainly not least, deep stretching to lengthen and cool down the muscles.
Above all else, we promise to deliver classes with good music, that is true to the culture, and high energy to kickstart your day.
Meet Your Instructor, Humayra
Humayra is the founder of Belly Dancing Away and will be your primary instructor. Humayra has over 8 years of belly dancing experience, including dancing at a professional / performance level and completing several workshops by some of the biggest international belly dance names: Jasirah; Julia Farid; Alex Delora; and Oscar Flores.
